In this module, we have explored the role of SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals - in sustainable and responsible tourism, and we have discussed different models and strategies for engaging in partnerships and collaborations. We have also highlighted the importance of people and partnerships in achieving the SDGs, and we have provided examples and case studies to illustrate these concepts and ideas in action. In this slide, we will summarize the key takeaways from this module, and we will encourage the audience to apply these takeaways in their own context. ✓SDG 17 is about partnerships and collaboration for sustainable development. ✓A municipality governs a tourism ecosystem, involving a diverse range of actors with different goals and needs. ✓Successful approach to sustainable and regenerative tourism relies on the creation of partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders, something that the municipal organisation is uniquely positioned to do. ✓Win-win relationships can lead to successful outcomes for all stakeholders, while also caring for the destination. The role of the municipality is to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among all stakeholders. ✓Stakeholder mapping is a useful tool to keep track of partnerships and regular monitoring is needed to make sure partnerships really are win-win.
